Building Science for New Homes

This course meets the requirement for Enhanced Builder Licensing as set out by the Homeowner Protection Office. This course is approved by the Homeowner Protection Office for 24 Group A CPD points.
Do you understand technical aspects of building quality, energy efficient homes that meet industry standards?
This course provides an overview of building science issues and sound business practices. This course is required to become a certified R-2000* or ENERGYSTAR® builder, and the suggested course for participating in the EnerGuide for New Homes and Built Green® programs.

Course Format:
Participants receive the course materials at the seminar and spend two days in classroom instruction. There is no online component for this course.
Examination:
An in-class, open book exam is written in the afternoon and is marked by the instructor. A pass mark of 80% is required to be successful in the course. If a mark between 65-79% is achieved, a fee ($60 plus tax) is charged to re-write. A candidate is given the opportunity to re-write a maximum of two (2) times before having to retake the course. Candidates who score less than 65% on the initial examination will not be given the opportunity to re-write the examination and will have to retake the course (no discount will be given).
