This week is Apprenticeship Recognition Week in B.C., where we recognize the contribution of the trades to our province. The trades touch everyone every day, whether you’re driving on roads built by tradespeople or going to work in a concrete skyscraper.
“The importance of the skilled trades to society cannot be understated,” says Gary Herman, CEO of the Industry Training Authority. “Developing a skilled workforce is not just for today, but also for ensuring that B.C.’s economy and workforce will be protected through the next 80 years and beyond. Through growing and supporting apprenticeship, we can continue to build a skilled workforce to help ensure that British Columbians have the skills they need to be first in line for the many opportunities coming our way across the province.”
