DESCRIPTION:Participants will develop an understanding of contract law as it relates to construction and the various CCDC/CCA and other contracts used within the industry. Participants will also learn the other legal means to resolve construction disputes and avoid litigation. DESCRIPTION:This course is approved for 28 Group A Homeowner Protection Office CPD credits.\n\nDo you understand the “house-as-a-system” to design energy efficient and green renovations and retrofits?\nLearn tools and skills for successful green building design and energy-efficient building\, renovation and retrofit projects.\n\n\nLearn the current science and solutions behind renovating quality\, energy efficient homes\nEducate your client on cost-effective home improvement options that consider health and energy efficiency\nEnsure your clients’ renovation goals are met\nIncorporate energy efficient renovation project project principles to meet current incentive program requirements\n\nDuration:\n10-15 hours online plus one day in-class\n\nMaterials:\nWorkbook “Building Science for Renovations”\n\nCost:\nCHBA BC Member $599.00\nNon-Member $799.00\n\nCourse Format:\nUpon registering for the course\, the manual will be delivered by regular post\, to be completed alongside the online module. Any student can email questions to the instructor at any time prior to the course date. The one-day in-class session will be used to review the material\, answer any questions and to prepare for the final exam in the afternoon.\n\nExamination:\nAn in-class\, open book exam is written in the afternoon and is marked by the instructor. A pass mark of 80% is required to be successful in the course. If a mark between 65-79% is achieved\, a fee ($60 plus tax) is charged to re-write. A candidate is given the opportunity to re-write a maximum of two (2) times before having to retake the course.
