SUMMARY:Writing Effective Letters\, Scope Documents and Reports
DESCRIPTION:What are key elements of an effectively written document? What should I focus on in my letters\, bids\, proposals\, work plans\, reports\, and documentation?\n\nPotential clients often judge you based on whether you can clearly articulate the services you provide. Clients may skim your documents\, so you need to ensure that your content is organized and that your key points stand out. Your writing ability is important.\n\nThis seminar is focused on helping you to do exactly that: to write more effectively. You’ll learn to tailor your writing for your audience and purpose. You’ll apply the strategies required for effective scope documents\, letters\, and reports. In addition\, you’ll also incorporate key principles for editing and revising your documents.\n\nWe’ll cover multiple topics\, including:\n1. Planning your scope documents\n2. Writing effective letters\n3. Responding to bids and proposals\n4. Structuring your reports and project documentation\n\nInstructor: Eric Tung is an English Instructor at UBC and SFU\, where he teaches academic\, professional\, and business writing courses. He has been teaching for a decade and advises firms on their change management processes and implementation\, and also on complex business documents\, such as proposals and technical reports. In addition\, Eric designs and delivers customized business\, proposal\, andtechnical writing workshops to engineering and consulting firms.\n\n\nWhat previous participants said: \n“I thought I did not need to take this course at first. After today\, I have a better understanding of how to prepare my documents.” \n“I found this to be very informative.” \n“All was valuable\, makes me rethink how I write.” \n\n Register Now!
