SUMMARY:Frame Scaffold Competent Person Training (SAIA) - Richmond
DESCRIPTION:Frame scaffolding is one of the most common types of scaffolding seen on construction sites worldwide. Typically manufactured from round tubing\, the frame scaffolding is available in several different configurations\, from a section that contains both a ladder and a walk-through portal to sections that are totally walk-through and sections that resemble a ladder. \nCanada Scaffold University’s SAIA accredited Frame Scaffold course will provide demonstration and practice with the typical methods of constructing frame scaffolding\, including:\n\nIdentifying types and components of Frame Scaffold\nIdentify standard usage of Frame Scaffold\nHow Frame Scaffolds are erected using Code of Safe Practice\nDetermining equipment list and erect a multi-lift tower\nWork orders\nIdentify and understand Rolling Tower Frame Scaffold\nErect and dismantle a Rolling Frame Scaffold using Code of Safe Practice\nIdentify scaffold configuration\n\nParticipants who score 70% or higher on the Competent Person written exam and display competency building frame scaffolding will receive a certificate of completion and wallet card from the SAIA Training Program\, certifying completion of Competent Person Training in the erection of frame scaffolds. \n\nCertification: Participation in the practical component and passing a final exam is required to qualify for the 3-year SAIA Competent Person certification.\n\nWho should attend: Anyone working on scaffolds\, those who supervise work on and near scaffolds\, and those who supervise the erecting\, altering\, and dismantling of scaffolds.\n\nNo prerequisites required\n\nPlease note: All participants will be required wear a non-medical face-mask whilst in the classroom environment. Physical distancing will be maintained for the course duration\, however\, certain class exercises may involve participants and the instructor being physically closer than 6-feet. This is why participants and instructors are required to wear a non-medical face-mask. When strict physical distancing is not possible\, instructors will also ask all participants to sanitize their hands immediately before and after such exercises.\n\nInstructor: Kelly Clancy is the Construction Safety Officer at Canada Scaffold Supply. He started his career at Canada Scaffold in 1998 as a Foreman and has worked as a Scaffold Installer\, progressing to his current position. Kelly acquired his CSO Certification in 2018 and is focused on safety and compliance in scaffold installation. He manages the Scaffold Install crew as well as overseeing site safety plans\, and performing hazard and risk assessments.\n\nKelly received his Competent Person Training (System Scaffold) from the Scaffold & Access Industry Association. He also successfully completed the Train the Trainer Facilitator Skills Workshop at SAIA. Kelly teaches the Supported Scaffold Competent Person Training (1-day) course at Canada Scaffold University (CSU).\n\n Register Now!
