SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Workplace Harassment - What It is and What to Do About It
DESCRIPTION:Harassment in the workplace can come in a variety of forms\, with the potential for far-reaching effects on the health and well-being of workers\, as well as on their job tenure\, job stability and job satisfaction. Did you know that overall- in Canada\, 19% of women and 13% of men reported that they had experienced harassment in their workplace in the past year? Workplace harassment includes verbal abuse\, humiliating behaviour\, threats to persons\, physical violence\, and unwanted sexual attention or sexual harassment. \nThis type of behavior has harmful effects on the victims such as health and self-esteem problems\, as well as negative impacts on the workplaces where it occurs\, including decreased productivity and increased absenteeism. \nIn this 2-hour live online session we will explore strategies on: \n\nHow to prevent harassment from occurring\nWhat sorts of policies should be in place?\nWhat should managers do to protect their employees?\nAnd if a complaint is filed\, what will we do?\n\nWhile this session is part of a series\, participants are not required to attend all sessions in the series or attend in any sequence.  Each session can be attended independently. \nPresenter: Pamela Bragg \nPamela Bragg is the owner of Sarkany Management Inc.\, a Human Resources Consulting firm\, which offers a broad range of HR services.
