DESCRIPTION:WorkSafeBC’s amendment to Bill 9 includes two major changes to the requirements for employer incident investigations. First\, section 175 of the Act has been amended to require an employer to undertake a preliminary investigation within 48 hours of the incident. This course will provide an overview of the most commonly used CCDC documents\, and of the standard CCA 1 subcontract\, with specific focus on the concepts and procedures of the provisions relating to the following significant concerns\, among others: \n1.            The definition of the Contract Documents; \n2.            The role of the Consultant; \n3.            Payment; \n4.            Extra work; \n5.            Delays; \n6.            Deficiencies; \n7.            Dispute resolution; and \n8.            Default and termination. \nRelated issues such as the effect of supplementary conditions and the interaction of the contracts with the operation of the Builders Lien Act will also be addressed. \nWho should attend? \nOwners\, contractors\, construction managers\, subcontractors and design professionals. \nPresenter: An Associate Counsel with SHK Law Corp.\, Marc MacEwing has practiced extensively as a construction lawyer in all aspects of the practice for over 30 years.
