DESCRIPTION:This presentation describes various earth shoring techniques for building construction including aspects of design and safety. \nSeveral shoring methods are covered: \n\nCantilevered walls\nTied-back walls\nBraced excavations\n\nCase studies are presented relating to risks of instability during excavation. \nPresenter: Robert Bourdages. P. Eng.\, PE\, SE\, LEED AP\, Principal\, Stantec Consulting Ltd. \nRobert Bourdages is a structural engineer who has practiced building design along the US west coastal states\, and in British Columbia and Alberta. He has provided the structural design of buildings and earth shoring structures in many geographic areas with various soil and water conditions. Robert is a Principal with Stantec Consulting Ltd. in Vancouver\, and is currently working on the YVR CORE Program\, a major infrastructure project at the Vancouver Airport. \n Register Now!
